You NEED:

1 monkey wrench

These will HELP but not required:

a car to scout areas/get away in

a flashlight (presuming you are doing the normal, safe thing; stealing during the night)

a pair of thick gloves (to help grab a firm hold of and to carry the sign easily)

The best time to take any sign is under the camoflauge of darkness. Scout an area between 1-2 a.m. where there are a few signs you want. You will not be getting all of the signs in one night, trust that. This isn't to say it's hard to take a sign. It's jus that certain signs are a pain in the ass due to rusting bolts.

When you see a good bet, park your car if you have one atleast a block away. Work the bottom bolt(s) first so the sign doesn't flip over, adding to suspicion. Always turn counter clock wise and never try to "force" the sign. If it doesn't wanna budge like the Dead End sign I tried lifting tonight, come back with WD-40. Problem solved.

If someone see's you and they aren't a cop, don't panic. Walk away casually. Most people are reluctant to scold a random stranger, especially late at night. If a cop see's you or anyone is giving you trouble, run! I wish you the best of luck....

Stop signs and speed limit signs are the hardest to get. This is due to them being mostly in high traffic, obvious areas. Or on busy street corners. Be careful.

Restriction signs such as No Trespassing and the like are probably the easiest. They are usually in dark, secluded areas, with plenty of cover. These types of signs also tend to come off the easiest due to the fact that they are so frequently stolen and replaced with brand new signs and bolts. I made out with 2 tonight. Each took about 3-4 minutes to get off.

Have fun, and remember, try to take signs that most likely will NOT cause an accident when they're gone!
